Fay Honey Knopp Award of Spirit and HumanityThis award commemorates the memory of Fay Honey Knopp's life's work and her enduring contribution to the field of sexual abuser treatment through her advocacy, support and vision of compassion and caring in the treatment of individuals who have engaged in inappropriate sexual behaviour and through her interest, caring, support and mentoring of individuals taking on the challenge of caring for this clinical population. This Award may be presented to a person studying, working or volunteering in the field of sexual abuser treatment or sexual abuse research whose work exemplifies the qualities and vision of human goodness that Honey brought to the field and whose work and spirit is an inspiration to others. In addition, another component of this Award, is that the nominee-without financial assistance-would be unable to attend the ATSA Annual Research and Treatment Conference. Criteria The nominee has demonstrated warmth, acceptance, integrity and kindness in their work with both clients and colleagues alike and has influenced clients, colleagues and systems in a positive and forward moving manner as a role model and leader in the field. Members and non-members of ATSA are eligible for this award. Members of the Awards Committee and the ATSA Board of Directors shall be ineligible for nomination. Decision and Presentation The Fay Honey Knopp Award is selected by a Committee that includes a member of Honey's family or a person to whom they have delegated the position and a selected group of ATSA members who knew Honey and/or were familiar with her vision. The recipient will be informed by May 2009 and the award will be presented at the ATSA Annual Research and Treatment Conference in the Fall. Award
