Conference Goals and Objectives
The goal of the 27th Annual Research and Treatment
Conference is to advance contemporary knowledge and
skills for professionals providing services in the field of
sexual abuse by increasing the awareness of current
and relevant research, and exploring the implications
for its use in clinical intervention. Within the context of
interdisciplinary approaches, the sessions will assist
in identifying the challenges, proactive intervention
techniques and the implementation of solutions to
advance the scope of future sex offender work.
Continuing Education Credits
Continuing Education is being coordinated and
sponsored by New England Forensic Associates (NEFA).
A $50.00 administrative processing fee, payable at
time of registration, for psychology, social worker and
certified counselor CE’s is being assessed by NEFA. The
assessed fee will be $60.00 if registering for CE’s at the
conference.
Participants who are attending either the 12-hour
Adolescent or Adult Track and have signed up for
Continuing Education Credits must also attend all six (6)
Plenary sessions in order to receive the total 18 Continuing
Education Credits. No partial credits will be given and only
one certificate will be issued for the total number of 18
credits. No credit will be given for partial attendance at the
conference. Poster Sessions do not qualify for CE credit.

Education Credits for Social Workers and Marriage and
Family Counselors. Attendance at Pre-Conference
Seminars earns 6 CE credits for a full-day session, 3 CE
credits for a half-day session. Attendance at the 2½ day
conference earns 12 credits.
Application, for a maximum of 18 credits, is also being
made to the National Association of Social Workers
(NASW) for CE credits for states who do not recognize
California’s certification as listed above. Because
of special requirements by the Ohio Social Worker
Organization, NEFA cannot offer CE credits for Ohio Social
Workers.
All other Social Workers should check with their state
board to determine if accreditation from NASW is
accepted in your state. If not, please contact NEFA and
they will make every effort to fulfill the requirements in
order to get approval. NEFA is not responsible if you do
not receive credits because they were not notified of the
problem.
