2025 ATSA Symposium and Panel Submission Instructions

Submission deadline: January 10, 2025

A Symposium is A 90-minute formalized presentation of a group of papers organized around a central theme or topic. Symposiums consist of two to three papers addressing an overall theme.

The Symposium Chair will recruit, organize, and coordinate all the abstracts from the authors/participants who have been asked to be involved in the specific symposium. Based on consistent feedback over the past years, participants find it difficult to learn from sessions that have four presentations within each session. In addition, feedback shows that more than two presenters per paper presentation can be distracting.  As the Chair of a symposium, please keep this feedback in mind to ensure a successful presentation.

The Symposium Chair must submit all individual paper abstracts within one document, uploading to the online submission portal. When completing the online form, identify the person chairing the symposium as the Lead Presenter. Include all paper presenters within the symposium on the submission form as Co-Presenters.

Within the abstract document please provide an outline for the symposium featuring the main title and one paragraph describing the overall symposium followed by the order of papers, author listing, one paragraph describing each paper, and any citations.

It is expected that the length of symposiums will exceed the guidelines on the submission form due to the multiple papers and presenters involved. Up to two additional pages are permitted for the additional abstracts and required Learning Goals. Only one set of three learning goals are required for the 90 minute session. Remember to upload CVs and Bios as separate files as requested in the Abstract, CV, and Biographies section of the submission form.

A Panel Discussion is typically invited by the conference committee; however, we would like to provide some guidelines for submission.  Submit your abstract as one document using the online submission portal and identify the person chairing the Panel Discussion as Lead Presenter. Include all Co-Panelists on the submission form as Co-Presenters.

It is expected that the abstract document will exceed the guidelines on the submission form due to potential co-panelists involved. Up to two additional pages are permitted for the additional presenters and required Learning Goals. Only one set of three learning goals are required for the 90 minute session. Remember to upload CVs and Bios as separate files as requested in the Abstract, CV, and Biographies section of the submission form.

Receipt of all abstract submissions will be confirmed by auto-email. Please email Jessica Yip jessica@atsa.com  if you have not received this confirmation or if you have any questions about the process.
